The Realization
One winter night in 2024, as a practicing Catholic and 18-year-old entrepreneur with only $7.66 in my bank account, I realized there was not one explicitly Catholic gym brand I could find.
AMDGCO began because I could not find the Catholic gym and lifestyle brand I was looking for, so I decided to build it.
I am the owner and founder of AMDGCO. Before this brand became AMDGCO, it was called Gladium Apparel.
This started as a simple but frustrating realization: I wanted Catholic gymwear and lifestyle clothing that was bold, well-designed, and rooted in the faith, but I could not find the brand I was looking for.
So I decided to build it.
AMDGCO began before there was funding, a team, or a roadmap - just conviction, prayer, and a gap I could not ignore.
One winter night in 2024, as a practicing Catholic and 18-year-old entrepreneur with only $7.66 in my bank account, I realized there was not one explicitly Catholic gym brand I could find.
After days of searching and coming up empty, the idea of creating my own brand started to take root.
Through prayer and discernment, Gladium Apparel was born. It was not perfect, but it was the first step toward something I believed needed to exist.
From the beginning, I did not want to make clothing for the sake of clothing. I wanted to create something that pointed back to God.
Once I started posting, it became clear that other Catholics had been searching for the same thing.
Soon after posting the first videos, the brand started growing quickly on Instagram in a way I did not expect.
The response confirmed that this was not just an idea in my head. Other Catholic men and women wanted a brand that brought the faith into the gym, the street, and everyday life.
That early response helped build a strong sense of community and loyalty around the mission.
It became clear that the brand was not just about apparel. It was about Catholic identity, belonging, discipline, beauty, and purpose.
Gladium Apparel served its purpose, but the mission eventually became bigger than the original name.
One day, while talking with my sister to pass time on a road trip, we discussed the possibility of rebranding into AMDGCO.
It was not an easy decision. I knew rebranding could risk losing recognition, momentum, and much of what I had worked hard to build.
Over time, I realized the mission was bigger than a men’s gym brand. It needed to be broader, stronger, and more deeply rooted in the Catholic identity behind the business.
AMDGCO comes from “Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam,” meaning “all for the greater glory of God.” That name put the mission at the center.
Today, AMDGCO exists to create Catholic clothing and jewelry that carries the faith into the gym, the street, the workplace, and everyday life.
The goal is not just to make products. The goal is to build a brand that reminds Catholics who they are, what they are made for, and Who they are called to glorify.
This journey has not been without challenges, but I have consistently felt God’s presence guiding the brand every step of the way. The dream of building something lasting for Catholic culture feels more real than ever.
Every order, share, message, and prayer has helped carry this forward. I do not take that lightly. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of the journey.
